Congratulations to our November CADETS of the Month!
CMS Media Center Face-Lift
Our "new" furniture has arrived in our Media Center! Well... it's not "new"... however, 3 of our unused bookshelves are being re-purposed to create a collaborative seating area. Bar stools will line the opposite side of the counter from the benches. Here are some photos of the completed project in its permanent home in the CMS Media Center!!
Cascade FFA Students Compete
When students are members of FFA, they are eligible to participate in what we call CDE's, or Career Development Events. These competitions lead our students on a journey to reach career success, personal growth, and leadership skills.
On Wednesday Nov. 30 The Cascade FFA Chapter was able to participate in the Area VI Forestry CDE. There were 120 students involved and over 30 teams. Cascade High Schoo's team was represented with 12 participating members, making up three teams which included CMS students Chase Searcy and Hayden Fletcher.
We are pleased to announce that all three of our teams placed in the top 15, and we had one senior member place 1st overall!
Our middle school students participated as seniors in this event and did very well against the seniors! Chase placed 29th out of 120 and Hayden Fletcher placed 44th
This was their first competition and they did great! The hard work and dedication it takes to reach success is amazing, and these students have done a remarkable job. If you see them around, they deserve a pat on the back!
First Semester Final Exams
There are (incredibly) only three weeks left until the end of the first semester! Many CMS courses (especially the high school credit courses) will require a final exam. CMS will follow the same final exam schedule as the high school. The testing schedule for Thursday 12/15/16 is HERE and the schedule for Friday 12/16/16 is HERE. Prepare early!!
2nd Semester Academic Schedules
Just an FYI and a heads-up to students and parents that the schedules visible in Power School for 2nd semester are subject to change leading up to the start of the new semester on January 3rd. We are actively working to achieve a more favorable class size balance and are making certain all students have the courses that they individually need.
CMS Teachers Complete Courses
CMS teachers took an online course through our technology partners with Five Star Technologies this semester as part of their professional development and continuing education program. Staff members had their choice between a course entitled "Assessment for Mastery" and one called "Design for Learning".
When the classes concluded, teachers met to discuss and share their main "takeaways" from the courses this week. Those main points from the "Design for Learning" course are shared in the Google Slides presentations available in the links above...
National Junior Honor Society Events
