Optimists Oratorical Contest
A big congratulations to the students that participated in the Mill Creek Optimist Club Oratorical Contest this past Wednesday night. Those students are Sarah Winters, Madison Bledsoe, Owen Boatright, Alexys Cartmel, and Kayley Thomas. They had some amazing speeches and were very brave to stand up in front of a room full of people to deliver their speeches! Owen and Sarah will be moving on to the next round of the competition to be held in early April. We are very proud of all the students!
THANK YOU Ms. Carpenter for volunteering your time to help prepare our students for this competition!
New Technology Feature
When students return from spring break they will find out how they can wirelessly cast their Chromebook screens to the classroom projectors and have their screen image displayed on the projector screens. It will be a great asset to help encourage collaboration and students modeling quality work for others!
Part 2 is just around the corner! 6th and 7th graders will have approximately 6 total hours of testing to complete for Part 2 which is the multiple choice section. 8th graders will have just under 5 hours of total testing. This section counts for 70% of the students' scores.
For your planning purposes we are targeting the dates of 4/18, 4/20, 4/25, 4/27, 5/1, and 5/2 to complete those tests.
Students have really displayed fantastic focus and given their best efforts so far through Part 1 of testing. If we can maintain that momentum their scores will be awesome!
